This page provides links to all free downloads currently available on the BMT. Included are section descriptions, maps, elevation profiles, and more. Information on new material will be posted here as it becomes available.

The red "*" marking sections 1 and 2 is to indicate FS Road 58 has been closed between Doublehead Road and FS 42 on the ridge to Springer Mountain. Repair work is scheduled to be complete in 2007.
The section maps listed below cover from sections 11b to 20a. Map breaks may not fall exactly on section boundaries so the closest section numbers that line up with what's shown on each map are given.

♦ Maps on sections 12-20a are provided courtesy of Ken Jones. Normal trail is shown in purple with road-walks drawn in yellow.
♦ Maps on section 11 (as well as all profiles and section descriptions) are provided courtesy of Marty Dominy. The trail is shown in green.
♦ Red flags mark section boundaries on all section maps. All were created using National Geographic's TOPO!®. The route files used to generate these maps are available free on National Geographic's website, but purchasing a copy of their software is required for use.
There is a Google Earth file on the BMT available here (compliments of Mr. Parkay). To use it, the Google Earth program must be installed on your computer (free download available at www.earth.google.com).
The Smokies map link in the table below is to a file on the BMTA website. The same can be downloaded directly from the National Park Service by clicking here. (On this Smokies trail map the BMT is shown in bright yellow highlight.)
